Chaim Deutsch, Flatbush Shomrim, Endorse Finkelstein for Civil Court Judge

Chaim Deutsch, founder of the Flatbush Shomrim, offered a glowing endorsement this morning to Charles Finkelstein, the leading candidate for Civil Court Judge. “Charles has always been sensitive to the needs of our community,” said Deutsch. “He’s offered free help countless times to community members in need and he is always there for the people. This is the kind of mensch we need for Civil Court Judge.”

The Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission (IJEQC) recently found Charles Finklestein “highly qualified” for the role of Civil Court. In addition, the judicial screening panels of both the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the Brooklyn Bar Association approved Finkelstein for Civil Court Judge.
Both associations spoke with Finkelstein’s colleagues and adversaries, as well as judges he’d appeared before, in their screening; all parties found Finkelstein the Civil Judge candidate to have not only the appropriate knowledge of the law and appropriate demeanor, but also the right judicial temperament, integrity, candor and absence of political and other influences.

Finkelstein was a felony prosecutor in the Brooklyn D.A.’s office and an assistant special narcotics prosecutor in Manhattan. He is currently in private practice as a civil and criminal attorney. Finkelstein has been enthusiastically endorsed by Assemblyman Dov Hikind as well as the New York State Court Officers Association.

The primary election for Civil Court Judge will be held Thursday, September 13, 2012.

Charles Finkelstein Endorsed by Assemblyman Dov Hikind

This year on September 13th, the entire Borough of Brooklyn has an opportunity to gain an experienced and dynamic individual for Civil Court Judge: Charles Finkelstein.

I’ve known Charles Finkelstein for 25 years. I was his Social Studies teacher at Yeshiva Toras Emes and have had the pleasure of watching Charles mature and grow into an exceptional attorney, as well as one of the most dedicated family men I know.

As a former felony prosecutor, and as an attorney who has handled the widest variety of civil cases, Charles Finkelstein has just the right temperament, demeanor and experience for the position of Civil Court Judge. He is exactly the type of community member you want on bench: experienced, fair and honest.

If you’d like to see change for the better in Brooklyn’s judiciary, I urge you to take 10 minutes on September 13th and come out to vote for Charles Finkelstein for Civil Court Judge.
